Delivering on the Trade Facilitation Agreement: The role of standards and regulatory frameworks
Nairobi, Kenya, 14 December 2015
Trade facilitation creates a reliable, fast and cost-effective trade environment that benefits all countries and businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. It is a collaborative effort by governments and traders to cut the costs of doing trade, reduce delays at borders, and make public agencies dealing with trade more efficient.
During the Workshop organized by UNECE and held as a side event of the 10th WTO Ministerial Conference, international and regional experts will present their experiences with existing standards and related tools, as well as their thoughts on how such instruments can be better used to further enhance implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) worldwide. The IEC participates actively through its regional office in Africa, IEC-AFRC, which was inaugurated in November. François Ahoti of IEC-AFRC will speak at the event.
